Przedmiotem pracy jest funkcjonowanie pomocy społecznej w gminie. Głównym celem pracy jest odpowiedz na pytanie jak ta pomoc jest realizowana i czy spełnia swoje zadanie. Praca skupia się na jakim poziomie są świadczone usługi oraz jaką role w tych usługach odgrywa Miejsko –Gminny Ośrodek Pomocy Społecznej. Na prace składają się trzy rozdziały. Rozdział pierwszy przedstawia system pomocy społecznej na terenie kraju. Drugi rozdział natomiast przedstawia organizacje tej pomocy na szczeblu samorządowym. W rozdziale trzecim zostały poddane analizie działania ośrodka oraz zasięg pomocy społecznej w gminie. Można stwierdzić, że w gminie są podejmowane wszechstronne działania, -które wspierają rodziny oraz pomagają w walce z ubóstwem

The subject of the work is the functioning of social assistance in the municipality. The main objective of the work is to answer the question of how this aid is implemented and whether it fulfils its purpose. The work focuses on the level of services provided and the role of the Municipal Centre for Social Assistance. The work consists of three chapters. The first chapter presents the country’s social assistance system. The second section presents the organisations involved in this aid at local level. The third chapter analyses the activities of the Centre and the scope of social assistance in the municipality. It can be seen that comprehensive measures are being taken in the community to support families and combat poverty
