People celebrate many holidays in the USA but Thanksgiving is probably the most important. The day is an annual
holiday in November when people traditionally give thanks for food. On Thanksgiving Day, families and friends
usually get together for a large meal or dinner. The Thanksgiving holiday weekend is one of the busiest travel times of
the year because people often travel all over the country to be with their families. Traditional food includes turkey,
potatoes, vegetables, gravy and pumpkin pie. People also collect food for people who are poor and hungry.
Thanksgiving parades also take place in some cities, including New York and Philadelphia.

gdzie głównym daniem mięsnym jest indyk. Niektórzy ludzie zbierają też jedzenie dla (2)
………………………………. My w tym roku idziemy do znajomych taty, ale najpierw weźmiemy udział w (3)
……………………….na ulicach naszego miasta. W przyszłym tygodniu wyślę Ci zdjęcia.

The Carnival in the Croatian town of Rijeka is one of the best-known carnivals in Europe. For two weeks in February,
people celebrate in the squares and streets of the town.
There are big tents with traditional food, drink and music. There’s a masked procession through the city for children
which is very popular with families. On the first Sunday of the celebrations, the Zvoncari appear. There are men
dressed in animal skins and masks who dance to the ringing bells.
On the final Sunday, the international parade takes place. During this time, around 150 carnival groups from different
countries wear masks and colorful costumes and join in a procession through the city. It’s a highlight of the carnival
thay you really shouldn’t miss.

Chyba już wiem, czym możemy zrobić projekt na temat europejskich świąt. Właśnie przeczytałem artykuł o
karnawale, który ma miejsce w Rijeka, w Chorwacji. Karnawał odbywa się w lutym i trwa przez (1)…………….. .
W pierwsza niedzielę obchodów pojawiają się Zvoncari. Są to mężczyźni ubrani w (2) ………………………..,
maski i tańczący w rytm dzwonów. W ostatnią niedzielę odbywa się (3) ………………………….parada. Wszyscy
zakładają kostiumy i maski i maszerują ulicami miasta.
